About Me
Mitchelle James (b. 1992, Lagos), widely known as MitchyJ, is a testament to the transformative power of art and the resilience of personal passion. Despite early challenges and parental discouragement, MitchyJ pursued his calling as a visual artist and thinker with unwavering dedication.
From a young age, MitchyJ’s fascination with art was nurtured by mentorship under Dr. (Mrs.) Wendy Adetokunbo and later refined through formal studies in the Philosophy of Art at the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom. His artistic journey transcends traditional boundaries, offering a unique perspective on Africa’s untapped human and natural potentials.
